Working on films, I can attest that there is a lot of waste. So when I come across people creating ways to be more green on set I’m pretty excited. When a film, commercial or whatever it may be is shooting, not too far from the action is the sea of base camp trailers housing production personnel and maybe a celebrity or two, otherwise know as “the talent.” These trailers are powered by fuel generators and full of eco UN-friendly materials. Think about those generators running for 12-17 hours a day. That’s a lot of waste and pollution. But now ground has been broken for a new generation of production trailer. King Kong Production Vehicles, Inc. introduces the world’s first solar hybrid production trailer – HELIOS – built specifically for the entertainment industry.

Helios was designed and built to fulfill all the needs of production while keeping a goal of having the least impact on the environment. That’s two things I love coming together – film production and eco friendliness! I knew my worlds would collide someday.
Let’s take a look at what’s inside Helios.
Solar Generator - Bio Diesel Generator - Bamboo Cabinetry - FSC Certified Lumber - Low VOC Finishes - Recycled Glass Desks & Countertops - Recycled Rubber Flooring – Solvent Free Adhesives & Formaldehyde-Free Substrate – Soy Based Foam Insulation – LED Lighting – Recycled Wall Base – Radient Heating – Recycled Water System – On Demand Hot Water
That’s not even all of it! Click HERE for a full list of all of the green features. Next time I have to rent a production trailer, I WANT THIS ONE!!!!!
